My name is Portia Favro (she/they) - pro dancer turned full-time showgirl.
After a catastrophic knee injury in my teens (ACL, MCL, + meniscus), I stepped away from dance and into journalism. But the burlesque world seduced me right back: I left the desk behind and jetéd into showgirl life for good.
Since then, I’ve been dubbed “the traveling showgirl” - performing everywhere from Berlin to New Orleans, Los Angeles to Seattle, Whitehorse to Montreal, and many glittering stops in between.
In 2025, I was awarded Most Erotic at the Hollywood Burlesque Festival + voted #13 in the world on 21st Century Burlesque’s Top 50 Most Influential Burlesque Performers list in 2024.
I’m the Headmistress of the Pin-Up Posse, whose powerhouse cast won Best Large Group at the Burlesque Hall of Fame with my choreography.
Beyond performing, I’m deeply passionate about producing and teaching.
As a dance instructor, I teach heels, burlesque, floorwork barre, and retro go-go - locally and on-demand. Creating truly welcoming, accessible class environments is at the core of my work, especially for dancers navigating trauma, disability, and mental health challenges.
I’ve worked extensively in Vancouver’s DTES with PACE Society and previously served as a frontline worker for the WISH Drop-In Centre Society.
