Who is Portia Favro?

Portia Favro is a former journalist and classically-trained dancer, turned pin-up and showgirl who has plunged into Vancouver’s rich burlesque scene.

She's an award-winning dancer, choreographer,and teacher with extensive experience working across Canada, Europe and the US.

Portia is a noted Co-Producer + Creator of La Maison Lust, Creator of The Ladybirds, Producer of Go-Go Bungalow at The Shameful Tiki Room (Vancouver’s only weekly retro go-go show!) and The Lovers Cabaret.

She has also performed in the prestigious Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary International Burlesque Festivals, Berlin Burlesque Week, Vancouver Fringe Festival, The Crystalline Cabaret, Lost Girls Burlesque, House of Hush Burlesque, The Canadian Olympic Committee, Lost Girls Burlesque, Wet Coast Burlesque and many, more.

As a passionate arts educator, Portia has been a dance instructor for over 15 years, specializing in working with adults of all skillsets. She is currently the Lead Instructor for Luminesque Dance, teacher at the Vancouver Burlesque Centre and First Dance Vancouver.

Portia also provides personal coaching for various movement and dance goals, especially working with those dealing with trauma, disabilities, and mental health.
